The Kitchen
Pediatric feeding therapy & picky eating support
Every bite is a step forward, and every little success deserves to be celebrated.
At The Celebration House, The Kitchen is dedicated to helping children and families navigate the challenges of picky eating, food aversions, ARFID, and limited food variety. We understand that mealtimes can become stressful when a child struggles to explore new foods, tolerate different textures, or feel comfortable eating.
Through individualized, play-based feeding therapy, we help children build confidence with food, develop age-appropriate feeding skills, and create more positive mealtime experiences.
Our family-centered approach focuses on meeting children where they are, respecting their individual needs, building meal time autonomy, and empowering caregivers with practical strategies that can be incorporated into everyday routines—all in the comfort of your own home.
How we support your child
Picky Eating & Limited Food Variety
Individualized support for children who eat a limited selection of foods (cutting out at least one full food grou), avoid unfamiliar foods, or struggle to expand their diet.
chewing & oral motor
Supporting children who have difficulty chewing, moving food around their mouths, or managing age-appropriate textures safely and efficiently.
family meal time engagement
Helping children progress toward a broader range of developmentally appropriate foods and participate more comfortably in family mealtime routines.
food aversion & arfid
Compassionate, individualized feeding therapy for children experiencing significant food avoidance, anxiety around eating, or restrictive eating patterns, with interdisciplinary collaboration when appropriate.
meal time stress
Family-centered strategies to reduce mealtime pressure, support children's autonomy, and build more comfortable, positive eating experiences.
medical complexities & G-tube support
Specialized feeding therapy for children with complex medical histories, including those who rely on G-tubes for nutrition. We focus on developing oral feeding skills, supporting positive mealtime experiences, and facilitating medically coordinated transitions toward oral feeding when appropriate.
picky eating vs. problem eating
Children can naturally go through a phase of picky eating. However, when this “picky eating” crosses into “problem eating” they can benefit from therapeutic support. Here are a few signs that your child’s picky eating may actually be problem eating and could benefit from our services:
They frequently eliminate foods from their diet and those foods will not return
They have eliminated a full food group
They are unable to maintain their weight on the growth chart
They have physical reactions and/or fear reactions with new foods
They are unable to be around others eating a food that is non-preferred
They do not periodically add new foods to their diet
1
Comprehensive Feeding evaluation
We begin by learning about your child's medical history, feeding development, current challenges, and your family's goals. Through observation and clinical assessment, we identify areas of strength and opportunities for growth to develop an individualized plan of care.
What to expect from feeding therapy
2
individualized therapy- in your home
Therapy takes place in your child's natural environment, where feeding skills can be practiced during familiar routines. Each session is tailored to your child's developmental needs, comfort level, and feeding goals, with an emphasis on safe, positive feeding experiences.
3
caregiver education and collaboration
You are an essential part of your child's progress! We provide hands-on caregiver coaching, practical strategies for everyday routines, and collaboration with your child's medical team when appropriate. Our goal is to help families feel confident supporting their child's feeding development between sessions.
